Mind you I did do and update from Windows XP. I'm using the HP software, HP Precisionscan Pro that came with the scanner. I'm on version 3.13 is is probably an update I downloaded from HP. Its producing scans OK. I have an HP ScanJet 5470c and it works fine with Vista x86 using the HP XP drivers (3.13). This is on a scsi connected HP SJ5P, a real oldie. Are you using the USB or parallel connection? Deskscan 2.9 used to be recommended by TeamHP when people had problems with Precisionscan.

Aug 21, 2018  I see that there is no support for the HP Scanjet 5400C and am wondering if there is any way to get this device working with Win 7? Thanks for any help offered. Win 7 Ultimate driver for HP Scanjet 5400c. There were no Vista drivers for this. There is no chance of any Windows 7 drivers.
